Cleaning tiles maintains our bathroom’s sanitation and elegance. It requires a little of your time, regular schedule, a hand to scrub and the right cleaning elements. Cleaning is an easy task to do, especially if you use the right cleaning elements. Marble floors are delicate and should be given proper care. Bathroom tiles and grout should only be cleaned with mild ingredients. There are many commercially-available cleaning products out in the market, but it will really cost you more. As an alternative, make your own cleaning solution. There are many household ingredients that can clean effectively without really hurting your budget.
There are three cleaning products that may be readily available in your house: Baking Soda, Hydrogen Peroxide, and Dish detergents
Baking Soda is a non-toxic and an inexpensive cleaning agent that is friendly to tiles. Prepare a bucket and mix a solution of one-half gallon of warm water and two cups of baking soda. Wet the sponge in the bucket and wring off excess water. Wipe over the surface of the tiles in a circular motion. Focus more on the areas where dirt usually accumulates. There may also be soap scum or mildews in moist areas like the shower tiles. If they are not easily removed, powder the baking soda onto that area and let it stay for 5 minutes, then scrub with a cloth or a brush.
Hydrogen Peroxide is also a cleaning agent that can clean and disinfect the tiles without damaging it. Make a mixture of 1 part hydrogen peroxide and part water in a cleaning bucket. You may also put in a spray bottle, this may be more convenient. Dip the sponge and wring off excess water, or spray it onto the tile surface. Clean the area as you would normally do. After passing through the tiles, you will have a streak-free shine in you tiles.
The last, but not the least, alternative is the Dish Detergent. In a cleaning bucket, prepare one gallon of warm water and squirt five times of a pH-neutral liquid dish detergent. Dip the sponge into the bucket and wring off excess water. Clean the surface as you would normally do. Air drying may not be preferable as it may leave marks on your tiles. Scrub a piece of cloth of the finishing touch. As a result, you will have a streak-free, dirt-free and scum-free surface.
